Ripped from the headlines...

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit: Unorthodox (1-15-08)

Urgh. I think I need to stop watching Special Victims Unit. It gets more and more depressing with each episode. Kids raping kids...I see it in the news enough as it is. And the old "let's blame everything on the smut on T.V." defense is getting way too old.

I think instead of watching the show, I'll just read the threads at Television Without Pity. They're more fun.

Torchwood aired the first episode of series two last night in the U.K.- I'm debating whether or not to be a good girl and wait for the (heavily edited, I'm sure) BBC America premiere, or beg one of my British friends for a download link.

TV or not TV.

I don't watch as much television as I used to. Most of what's on now is reality crap, and thanks to the Writer's Guild of America's strike, there is even less on. Lately, I've been more interested in British television than anything American networks put out. My newest obsession is Torchwood- I got hooked through watching marathons on BBC America. I'm looking forward to the second series of it.

I'm only a casual viewer of Dr. Who, but for some reason I just love this spin off. Maybe Torchwood is to Dr. Who what Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is to original Star Trek or The Next Generation- it helps to have watched some of the original, but the new show is good enough on its own.

On this side of the pond, I really only watch House, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (and the other L&W shows on occasion), and Lost. I hated having to wait almost a full year for the new season of Lost, but it will be here soon!
